We have extensive experience of working on sites, both within London and outside, adding value to property by the introduction of basements.

This can include deepening an existing Victorian basement which was not built to modern habitable standards, or through the introduction of a totally new basement underneath an existing property.

We have experience in introducing both partial basements, basements over the entire footprint of the house and even basements which occupy the full extent of the site.

Our first task is to understand as much as possible about the existing property. This includes investigations using local contractors we know well. These will include trial pits and boreholes as required so that we have a full understanding of the ground below the site including the location of the water table.

We can assist the Planning Application with the production of Engineering Method Statements which set out in general terms the sequence of operations to be undertaken during the design and construction of the proposed basements. This is required to support the Planning Application in many of the Central London Boroughs.

We have members of the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors within our company as well as associated external consultants who can provide advice on party wall matters including the preparation of Notices and negotiation of Party Wall Awards with your neighbours.

We work regularly with a number of contractors in Central London to produce underpinning schemes including sequences of works, typical details and full structural drawings as requested.
