This project consisted of the structural design of a 10-storey reinforced concrete frame with flat slabs, supported on deep piled foundations.
The site, located opposite Canning Town Underground Station, was originally an old metal scrap yard, and the developer obtained planning permission to build a mixed-use development consisting of 201 apartments and 10,000 sq ft of retail space. This development has assisted in the regeneration of Canning Town.
Site constraints and difficult ground conditions due to its location near London Docklands, meant that a considerable amount of deep piles had to be incorporated within the foundation design.
